As they say, the memory is always the first thing to go. I don't recall ever hearing an explanation as to why the Joneses had named the dog Indiana. Any guesses? Henry was supposedly of recent Scottish stock, while it has been rumored that Indy's mother Alice was from Virginia. Is Indiana a state worthy of naming a dog and a hero after? I've never been there, and sad to say, when I try to picture Indiana in my head I either see Dan Quayle or the city of Des Moines. Which is actually in Iowa.
