: While I prominently agree with both of you (When Raiders came out waaayyy back in the day, the critic for the local paper where I'm from liked the first ten minutes, then soundly PANNED the rest of the film), I have to say that, as a MAJOR Anime fan, I LOOOVE subtitles. The dubbed versions are usually just plain goofy, and kind of wreck the film/show for me.

: AND my all-time favorite movie - behind RAIDERS, of course - is SEVEN SAMURAI.....a movie which, without subtitles, I might not have ever seen. Granted, I am currently studying Japanese with the intent on being able to converse with the Japanese Tech Specialists' where I work, and to see this film W/O subtitles, but just the same....
