discover and delineate site boundaries and assisting in the mapping and
documentation of these locations.

It is imperative that all applicants be experienced in the recognition of
the range of prehistoric and historic archaeological materials typically
found at Midwestern archaeological sites and be physically fit and able to
work eight hour days for 10-day shifts in a variety of Summer and Fall
outdoor field conditions. Much of the work will take place in agricultural
fields, but a variety of vegetation and landscape conditions will be
encountered. Individuals must be able to carry and use hand excavation
equipment, walk long distances, climb fences, and ride in state vehicles.
Stooping, bending and lifting are essential functions of this position.
Transportation to Iowa City is the responsibility of the applicant. All
pertinent University of Iowa workplace policies will apply.

In accordance with University of Iowa policies, qualified applicants will
receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color,
religion, sex, or national origin (EOE/AA).

Employment on this project will be offered to qualified applicants on a
first-come, first-serve basis--July 5th is a firm start date--we are
looking for individuals who can commit to 16 weeks; additional lab and
reporting time possible for selected crew members.
