With all this talk about zippers, I figured its worth mentioning that Wested will be using new heavier nickel zippers. Peter showed me the samples when I was at Wested and they looked and "felt" top notch. I have a Wested with a very fine (almost sweat jacket quality) gauge nickel zipper that gets stuck alot when opening and closing. The new ones he will be using are a heavier gauge than the current nickel zippers and they slide open and closed much better. The pull is also bigger and different than the whimpy rectangular pull on the current zips. Basically they are more in line with the nice brass zippers he's been using (only that they are nickel). It should be a few weeks to get them in because the brown tape is not standard on nickel zips and they are a special order for YKK.
