Two things to remember - not all critics are bad. Just because you disagree with one of two negative reviews, don't lump them all together. AI is getting GOOD reviews as well. Critics are just people who get paid for their opinions.

I think if you love Spielberg, you'll like AI. If you like Kubrick, you'll hate it. If you love them both, you'll be torn.

Finally; what every opponent of AI seems to forget is that Kubrick HAND PICKED Spielberg before his death, because he knew Spielberg could inject the heart and warmth the film needed, something Kubrick couldn't do himself...different philosophies.

You're right on the money though - AI is terrific.
