As far as fit goes, do try to get as close to your actual measurements as you can. I have to go over my normal coat size from a 42R to a 44R to get a jacket that fits through the shoulders, but then it has to be really tapered (which Peter has done) to fit my 30" waist and not stick out in the back. It is hardly noticeably thicker than the lambskin used in the movies (as Peter has admitted that the current cowhide is VERY close to the lamb he used in the movies), has a fantastic grain and buttery soft feel to it, while being a helluva lot tougher and more durable than the lambskin. PLUS, it seems to drape better, and hold up to wear and tear better, too! And when ordering, I echo Shawnkara's sentiments on the cotton lining-it is MUCH cooler (I have owned both), but does snag on your long-sleeved shirts. I now have a Wested Raiders jacket with cotton in the body, satin in the sleeves, AND a zipper on the inside jacket pocket-which helps the pocket retain its shape over the years and also has the added benefit of keeping anything you put IN the pocket where it belongs....IN the pocket!

Well, I wish you luck in your ordering! It truly is an experience in itself just GETTING one of these jackets! I love mine and of the two that I own, it is my favorite!
