When visiting Cancun....

I was visiting Cancun and decided to take a trip to Chichen Itza.
Well, deep in the bowels of the Yucatan, after I visited Chichen Itza (which was awesome by the way, you can travel through the pyramid to a secret inner cavern which has a jaguar carving decorated with gems) we came to a restaurant which had a cenote nearby. You descend through carved steps into the two hundred foot cenote, which had crystal clear water and fish swimming around, along with vines and tree roots draping from the small opening at the top into the water. It was absolutely incredibly, you dive in from about ten feet and swim around where they used to dump people for sacrifices. The light streamed in and it was about the most otherworldly place I've ever seen.
