To me, the car, which I assume is Indy's since he's driving, looks like a '34 or a '35 Buick model 68 5-passenger coupe. It makes sense, if you think about it. A professor at a small New England college would want something comfortable & well-appointed, but not too expensive, either. The Buick fits the bill nicely. (Incidentally, the red car that drives past as Indy & Marcus are walking to the house is probably a '38 Cadillac.)
