: I just received my first pair of Aldens in the D size. I did go 1/2 size down as suggested and that was perfect for my toes, but up on top, I feel that they are a little too tight. I can't even lace them all the way up. My feet have never seemed big at all, but these boots are very snug around the top of my foot where it meets the ankle. When you lace them up and pull the sides of the boot together, the leather is about an inch apart. I see when HF has his laced up, the leather meets about only a quarter of an inch apart. If I get longer laces and begin to wear them, will the leather stretch at all in time? Should I have ordered a wider size instead and if so, will Aldens pay to have them shipped back for an exchange of another size? I know alot businesses will pay shipping charges if you are only exchanging something. Anyone else have this problem as well? Any help is much appreciated!!!!! Thanks.

The leather will stretch out and the boot leather will comform a bit to your feet! Mine sortof hurt a little on the top of my foot when I first got them, but after wearing them in a little, not only did they quit hurting, but the shoes got to where I could lace them up all the way to the top! I couldn't do that when I first got them....

Call them and ask, though, if you think you might have some that don't quite fit!

Later!
