Those Japanese DVDs on Ebay

Hey guys, it's been a while for me. This has probably been asked before, but have any of you ever purchased those Indy DVDs you see on ebay all the time. They're Japanese subtitled, but they say that is an option that can turned off. I was just wondering if they were a worthy investment, because after purchasing a DVD player I can
't bring myself to watch VHS anymore, especially my crappy standard format Indy trilogy. I know they finally have them in widescreen on VHS, but I refuse to buy them now. The DVDs are fairly cheap. Like $50 for all three, usually.
