The game engine they are using is a revamped Jedi Knight engine. Things do look a little blocky, but it's really not that bad at all, once you start playing you won't even notice it much. Plus LEC has improved on this engine so I think it will play even better than Jedi Knight.(JK multiplayer is a blast!)
As far as getting a new computer goes- this game will have a minimum requirement of a 166 cpu, which is a LOT for a minimum. It will probably play best with a minimum of a 200 or 233cpu, so be prepared, I will be.
