The point is that right about the time they released TOD (Everybody was salivating, waiting for the continued adventures of Indy), they already had cheap fedoras and bargain basement Indy gear. If it didn't turn into an explosion of Indy wannabee's (for lack of a better term, no insult meant to the Indy fans) back then, why should it now?
