I don't think it's reachin' at all. It's a very likely scenario.

Why has everyone online convinced themselves that Indy 4 can't possibly happen? The rest of the world seems content to know that it will happen. The problem with the internet is that everytime a rumour appears, the fans take out a little stopwatch and start counting. When it doesn't appear the following year, it must be dead in the water.

This isn't the first time a film has taken this long to get to the screen. Look at how long Planet of the Apes and Spiderman have taken. Lucas is also notorious for being a long term planner, who says he ever intended to finish Indy 4 during the 90's? The only rumoured timeline we ever had was that he would LIKE to have it out between Episode I and II.

Indy 4 is going to happen and the internet will have to find new things to complain about, like the title of Episode III.
