I simply took the design of it down to the local Red Wing Shoe Shop and asked if they could make a leather strap with a snap fastener and dye it a dark brown. They could and it took only a week to do and cost me $7. You can't beat that for alternatives. It holds my whip perfectly and since it is usually underneath my MkVII bag when I wear it, you could never tell the difference. Even if it was visible you might not be able to tell.
