Depends on how your strap is constructed. Does it have a buckle on it and one continuous strap or is it two put together?

The Keppler strap is one big piece of leather. The back of the bag (with the little, gray metal hat) is adhered with the strap by simply folding a bit of it over and attaching it to itself with one leather screw.

The front is looped through the ring on the bag and then pushed through the buckle if large enough, and then attached to itself.

Hard to tell if this is any help or not to you, maybe the picture on Indygear would be more helpful (under Bags section) because I think I just confused myself with my lousy explanation. Should only have to use two screws (I couldn't find the exact kind at my hardware store when I was looking for extras but they are small, flat screws that fit inside a receiver that looks like a screw with an area to accept the screw) total.
