Raiders Redux? I kinda hope not...

AICN is reporting that Spielberg has decided to remove all guns from the Special Edition of E.T., due next year. In other words, instead of guns, government agents will now be seen carrying walkie talkies. It's also rumoured that they're fooling around with CGI to update E.T.'s facial expressions, etc.

I wonder if you will still be able to purchase the original film afterwards, or will the "Special Edition" become the standard, as it apparently has for the Star Wars trilogy?

After hearing this, I'm kinda glad they didn't do anything for Raiders' 20th!

• Sadly, AICN isn't wrong...just very, very late in reporting this. Spielberg has been saying that he wanted to do this for a couple of years now. It may suck, but it may be a good trade to see Harrison's cameo.....(NM) Indiana Jimmie 04:01:53 8/14/2001 (0)
