So, what happend to the Grail Knight? Would LOVE y'alls opinions!

Watched 'Last Crusade' last night and thought of something that I have actually never given thought to before . . . what happens to the Grail Knight?
Does the cave fall in on him? Since the Grail passed the seal (no thanks to that evil, Elsa) does that mean that HE is no longer immortal? Does he just go back into his spot for eternity? Does he try and retrieve the Grail? What does he do?!
Just wondering.
