PLEASE tell me this book is gonna get better!!

I'm in the middle of Indiana Jones and the Seven Viels and good heavans, WHAT A BORING BOOK!!! Is there any adenture besides Indy running around as a pirate? I'm tired of page after page of diary submissions. When does he actually get into some action. Should I just quit reading it now?
