I don't own one, but I've ridden one. It began life as essentially a copy of the BMW R75 boxer twin, which I've also had the pleasure of riding. The Ural isn't a bad bike, it's just a little, well, Russian. It's not nearly as well-sprung and comfortable as the BMW. Nor is it confidence-inspiring at speeds over 50mph. Parts aren't that hard to come by, either. Ural has a pretty well-established dealer network in the states. The real advantage to the Sportsman is that with the driven sidecar wheel, the thing is unstoppable in the snow. You wouldn't want to trash a vintage sidecar BMW by driving it in the winter, but for the money they're asking for the Ural, it's a great bike if you live in the snow belt.

p.s. - Are you thinking about buying one? Let me know if you are.
