In the second picture you will see that I have scraped the top layer off the leather (with a metal object) to reveal what it could possibly look like after "natural" aging as I did not have time to buy acetone. The goat and horse put up some fierce resistance before showing any wear by the way. The horse doesn't even look like it flinched due to the oils in the leather.
