In an interview with George Lucas on the Hidden Fortress DVD, he says it only inspired the characters of the droids, and the movie was not the PRIMARY influence. Anyhow, that being said, I've only seen three of Kurosawa's movies and I loved every minute of them. I agree, Mifune was GREAT in Yojimbo! :)
