(Nb.: I originally posted the following to theraider.net forum, but since this forum is resurrected, I thought I'd share the information here as well).

Visual Pinball, the megaemulator of old arcade pinballs (www.visualpinball.com), may soon emulate a perfect version of the famous "Indiana Jones Pinball Adventure"! The makers of the emulated version of the table only have a few minor things to include to make the emulated pinball's looks and behavior identical with the original Indy game. Right now the program runs the (fully playable, with working sounds etc.) fifth beta version of the table, which is already almost perfect and, on a decent PC, gives a great impression of the real thing. If you can't wait to see what the current beta version looks like when played (it's a big download, the full installation of VPinball is about 5 megs, and Indy table beta 5 takes about 7), I've uploaded a screenshot to my site (140 kb), so you can take a look - jaromirkrol.tripod.com/Indy.jpg (copy it and paste manually - otherwise the image would not show up).

But to be able to use VP, you will actually need more than the program itself. Things you have to have:
- VPinball, full big install if you don't have it yet (visualpinball.com)
- VPinMame to actually be able to play the tables (VP only takes care of the emulation process itself)
- a special set of VB scripts for use with VP
- the Indy table (graphics, sounds etc.)
- the ROMs for the Indy table (responsible for defining game mechanics and all that :)

So, I'm afraid there's still some more downloading to do...
Now, the VBS scripts should be on the VP site. In case they're not (sometimes the link dies for no reason), I got them from here - http://emu.makii.pl/vp/index.php3 (the VBS 2.21 link is at the very beginning). This site also has Indy, both the ROMs and the table, with the manual:
http://emu.makii.pl/vp/flipery.php3?nazwa=Indiana%20Jones
BUT the table file is for beta 3. You can get the ROMs from there with no worry, they'll work with b5. To get the newest beta 5 of the table itself, you will need to look here: http://www.hippie.net/shivasite/news.shtml
The above site has the older beta, b3, but hippie.net should have the b5 (it did last time I visited

VPinMAME's official site is *dead*, unfortunately. But the program itself can still be found here and there. Personally, I'm using this site because it's very fast for me (most likely *just* for me because of the location but maybe it won't be that bad; I'm told the site's outgoing connection is pretty fast and there are no transfer restrictions) - http://emu.makii.pl/vp/bins/vpinmame_10b1.zip (this is a direct link to VPinMAME)

Then it's quick and simple - place VPinMAME where you keep VPinball, put the unpacked table and VBSs in the Tables\ directory, put packed ROMs in ROMs\ dir, run VPinMame's setup, run VPinball and enjoy Indy. Nb.; check "skip initial test" if you want Indy to run with sound!

Enjoy, everyone! :)
