I have to agree with Jay. It's this sort of casual statement that makes so many nations of the world resent what they see as our arrogance.
Somewhere along the lines, after WWII (vague Indy reference), we lost the more humble sort of pride we had in being Americans and just became stuck up.
I can't claim immunity from it.
It's hard to learn from history...
