Wu Han and Indy meet for the first time in Max McCoy's "Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur Eggs", though they aren't together for a bulk of the storyline. I'd speculate that there are still adventures waiting to be told taking place in between each novel, so Wu Han could have easily taken a more active part in those.
