Have any of you read Return of the Dark Knight by Frank Miller? It takes place twelve or so years after Batman has retired. He comes out of retirement and it is an incredible story of how this man deals with doing what he was born to do after having not done it for a long time, in this case fighting crime. I believe seeing Indiana Jones confront age in a very real way, while having all the gritty hard action of Raiders and obtaining the object of what may be his final adventure, would make the four films profound and satisfying in a way that would allow a person to identify with every level of life. From youth to old age this could concievably be the series of films to provide not only discovery and enjoyment, but insight for all.
Or, I'm could just be placing way to much importance on a movie.
