Hi Dale, I have been cracking whips for about fifteen years, and I find that a wooden pole (a long smooth broom handle will work) driven about a foot or so into the ground works well for holding up targets. This way you can attach you target to the top of the pole with tape and cut away. David Morgan’s book is great, and has a lot of very helpful instructions in it, however you might also want to check out the Whip Cracking made easy and Art of the Bull whip video tapes, that David Morgan has available. They also have lots of great tips and information, plus you get the benefit of seen the techniques being done for comparison. Hope this helps.

Dan
