Cheap yet effective blood hits...

The blood-filled condom is the way to go. Here's the realy cheap yet effective way to do it. Fill a condom with fake blood (A very cheap yet very Staining fake blood is red bingo ink...or you can mix colorless caro syrup with red food coloring and this can even be used in your mouth...your victim can spit blood too) Duct tape the condom tightly to the area of your victim inside of a shirt or jacket leaving a square-shaped "blood bubble" exposed. Then make an X shape slit in the material of the clothing to she "shot" through. Now...crazy glue a penny to some fishing line. Take the penny and insert it throught the hole in the shirt, and crazy glue it to the condom. All that need be done now is to pull the fishing line rapidly(which should be invisible to the camera) and the condom bursts, spraying blood outward through the hole you've created in the shirt. This can be done by a person off-camera, or even by the actor playing the shooting victim. If your backgroung is dark, you may need to take a black sharpie marker and color the fishing line black. Dark backgrounds are more likely to make the fishing line show up. Lighter backgrounds and you should have no trouble at all.
