This is straight from the Official Olympic website....
"WITH THE JANUARY 15 release of the five-time Oscar-winning composer’s “American Journey” CD, Sony Music Entertainment has sounded the first note en route to the Games.
Williams will be on hand for the Opening Ceremony, scheduled for February 8 at Salt Lake City’s Rice-Eccles Stadium.
He’ll conduct his official theme of the Salt Lake Games, “Call of the Champions,” to be played by the Utah Symphony Orchestra and sung by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
This is Williams’ third venture onto the Olympic stage. He composed the official music for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. His Atlanta theme, “Summon the Heroes,” is the concluding track of the “American Journey” disc."
