I just realized something about Last Crusade...

Wouldn't this be a misrepresentation of what was going on in Italy in 1938? Wouldn't it be overrun by Mussolini and his ilk? Or did Mussolini leave Venice alone so it can be a haven for tourism so they can get the money from "rich Americana" tourists like Indy and with Mussolini sheltering him repressing the people much like western tourists are sheltered from seeing Castro repress his people when they go to Havana, Cuba?

Is Indy secretly propogating fascist propaganda? Mein gott. ;)
