As far as Maxim goes, it turned me off instantly when it came out.
I'm not sure if the rag still does this, but the first time I looked at it, there was an article declaring "Nothing turns a girl on like a guy with a cool job. When your real job doesn't count, you can lie. This month, you are a Navy SEAL."
My thought bubble read "You sons of........."
They gave you a story, a few anecdotes, and what to say in case she asks you this.
I wrote them an angry letter requesting that they print a future article as to how to save face after a team guy at the bar hears you and pounds your worthless butt in front of her.
I still await that one.
And Brett, you're a good guy, as are most of you here, so I'm not about to pose and be something I'm not.
As far as making the team goes, at least for now--
"You lost today kid, but that doesn't mean you have to like it."
But Jake is and will carry on.
Let's be careful out there.
