: I seem to remember that a "5 in 1" blank cartridge is used by the movie industry. I beleive it is called that because it can be used in place of 5 different cartridge sizes. I can't remember which sizes it replaces. I think it replaces the 44-40 and the 45LC. What are the other three? Does it replace the .455 Webley? The 45 ACP (maybe an "autorim" version for converted revolvers)?. Would this have been the load in Indy's S&W? The Webley? The TOD Colt (if it was a Colt)?

The "5 in 1" blank can be used in .38-40, .44-40, and .45 Colt revolvers, and .38-40 and .44-40 rifles. Nowdays they could be called "6 in 1" blanks as they will, of course, chamber in .45 Colt rifles. When these blanks were invented .45 Colt cal. rifles were not available. "5 in 1" blanks can be obtained from Mark Allen. The .455 Webley requires a shorter blank than the "5 in 1". The .45 ACP is also a different blank, also available from Mark Allen.
