Pennsylvania has a lot to see and do. As usual, you're right, and Valley Forge is worth the trip, as are the battlefields and sites at Gettysburg. You could probably play for hours in Devil's Den, and it's always impressive to know the difference between Cemetery and Seminary Ridge.
Philadelphia has a it's places; after all, it's the birthplace of democracy. And you can also see where the statue of Rocky Balboa used to be, before someone realized that it might have been a silly idea.......
Also, it's amusing to ask the locals the name of the city. You'd swear they were saying "Fluffy."
"Ya know, like the Fluffy Eagles."
Hershey, skiing, horses, military museums--all great in the commonwealth, but there are a few other things off the beaten path if you would care to check them out.
In darned near the dead center of the state, near a mountain pit-stop called Centre Hall, you can find Penns Cave, which is the only all-water cavern in the US. Definately worth a look.
Also, if seeing the Amish for yourself is your aim, the community around the Cave can rival Lancaster.
Just give them respect. The Amish are good folks.
In Altoona, you can find the famed Horseshoe Curve from PA's railroad glory days.
And, if you're at all in to that sort of thing, near Pittsburgh is a place called Monroeville. The real landmark there is the shopping mall that the classic zombie flick "Dawn of the Dead" was filmed in. You probably already know this, but it's worth mentioning that the movie is the "Citizen Kane" of gore.
Pittsburgh, in general, is the zombie film Mecca.
Anyway, have fun, and when in Philly or elsewhere, let's be careful out there.
