: : I recently visited my local hardware store and asked if they sold
: : Midwest gloves. To my delight, they did, but did not have model
: : #850 (from previous posts, the authentic gloves worn by our hero)
: : in stock. I asked if they could order a pair, but when the
: : salesperson looked it up in his catalog, the model was 850VL and
: : was described as having a deer lining. I never read anyone saying
: : the gloves had a lining and just wanted to know if there was a
: : model 850 (without the VL), or did Iny's gloves have that lining.

: : Any input is (as always) greatly appreciated.

The elusive Midwest glove #850;

I believe is one of the more controversial Indy outfit items.

I tried Midwest directly, and all of the local hardware stores & shops-I could not get them.
The closest I found was the #851.

I agree with Michaelson; that the gloves may have been Wells Lamont's "Grips" Model.

I bought a pair myself for $10-12. They are the right color, unlined, and appear to be the same style.

Plus they are readily available; which would give one more reason to believe

that they were used instead of Midwest.

Anyway; as long as you have something close--I wouldn't sweat it!

But if someone has a picture--I wouldn't mind taking a look.

Happy Holidays!
