The story goes that Woolley encouraged his workmen to sing Phonecian boatmen's songs while they dug at Ur. It's said he thought it added to the atmosphere and exoticism of digging the site. Hyperbole or not, it's bound to have inspired the sunset digging scene.

As for liberals being name-callers and muckrakers, well, that kind of talk doesn't belong here, does it. I thought we'd settled all that when that asphole was made president of the US! :p
