Frank Dobie is an okay book (this book was featured in one of the Indy novels, if memory serves), but a much better work by Dobie is his less well known Apache Gold and Yaqui Silver. Dobie dives into all sorts of local Southwest legends about lost mines, Conquistador's gold caches and hidden lakes full of silver. Check your local libraries!
