: : There is definitely no rule against gear posts here. There was a time when a group of posters here were militantly anti-gear and subtlely and not so subtlely made that opinion known. I believe that crowd is mostly gone now, but the damage has been done. Gear posts have primarily moved on to Indygear where there are lots of folks with the expertise and interest. The reality of the situation now is that if you want your gear question answered that's the best place to go.
