My point being if the freedom of an open board were not abused as it has been in the past, then there would be no need to "police" the members. If the choice is monitoring a forum or watching it die, then I would choose the former.

"Freedom" in the broad sense implies direct participation accountability, and SUPPORT. Micah pays for this board. John pays for COW. Maybe these should be PAID memberships? Personally, I think that would be a great idea. $30 per year?
