: Henry's wound didn't re-open for the same reason that the two knights from the First Crusade didn't turn to dust the moment they passed behond the seal. I remember Indy saying that the two brothers wondered into the desert one-hundred and fifty years after having found the grail. The moment, the INSTANT they left the temple, they should have died. But they didn't! I would imagine that any miracles of actual healing performed by the grail would remain; so he who leaves the temple would only deprive himself of eternal life.
