Well, 1.3 million standalone DVD players have been sold in the US (MUCH more if you count DVD-drives in PC's) So if Speilberg sticks by his word, then studios should releasing his movies on DVD shortly.

However, if you have seen the state of Paramount's DVDs - You'll be GLAD that they aren't releasing the trilogy in the nearterm. Anyways, i've heard rumblings that we may see it by late fall '99. By then lets hope that Paramount is making quality discs similar to what MGM, Universal and Warner are putting out now. Just compare Tomorrow Never Dies to Star Trek: First Contact, you'll see what I mean!!
