Where is everyone?

I know I am new here, but I have been looking in the vault. It seems like in the past, things were quite interesting. It seems like a lot of the people who posted some interesting coments are no longer here. Where are these people and can we get them back. It looks like this was once such a great site. I would love to be in its "rebirth".
