Spielberg and Cruise Support Iraq War

World Entertainment News

Los Angeles — Hollywood A-listers Steven Spielberg and Tom Cruise have spoken out in support of President George W. Bush's proposed war on Iraq.

The stars said they were in favor of military strikes against Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein at a press conference in Rome, where they were promoting the Italian release of Minority Report.

The Oscar-winning director says, "If Bush, as I believe, has reliable information on the fact that Saddam Hussein is making weapons of mass destruction, I cannot support the policies of his government."

Cruise adds, "Personally, I don't have all the information President Bush has. But I believe Saddam has committed many crimes against humanity and his own people."

Spielberg and Cruise's viewpoints clash with many celebrities who have signed a petition criticizing action on the middle eastern country as "unjustifiable."
