And as a general preference, I'll take CGI, because to me, it's less distracting. The only time I think FX are equal are when it comes to humans riding on nonexistant animals - Luke on the Tauntaun in ESB looked every bit as awful as Anakin riding those whats-its-thingies in AotC. Oy.
