Um...help with VCD?

Hi Guys:

Let me preface this by saying that I've purchased the Indiana Jones films countless times over the years, from the very first video and laserdisc versions, up to the current "remastered" versions.

Now, on to video piracy.

Can anyone help with with editing an AVI file of Raiders? I've downloaded it from Kazaa and want to burn a VCD so that I can watch it on my DVD player (until Paramount coughs up the goods).

It's a large-ish file, so I need to cut it (I'm thinking right where Indy finds the Well of the Souls which is where the laserdisc cuts)...I'm pretty afluent in video editing, but all the software available sucks - ideally I could edit it in Premiere...any way to import an AVI file into Premiere & have it work?

Thanks for all the help(s), and NO, I'm not going to sell it on E-bay, just for my own entertainment.
