I was presented with my A-2 by my C.O., it was in the new style with elastic cuffs and waist with the smaller epalets on the shoulders. It has the Velcro patchs on the chest for Name, Rank, Squadren, etc. It doesn't say where it was manufactured, but it does have a label reading "Shell 100% Lambskin". I didn't think anything of it, maybe I should have taken better care of it if I find out it was rare or something. I ripped the left sleeve jumping out of the flight deck in a C-141. I got it repaired in Turkey, but you could still see the mark. After that, I only wore it when camping or hunting etc. I tore the back while hunting in the woods in Colorado and never got it repaired. It's still hanging in my attic with the rest of my military issue junk, boots, etc. I realize these are extreme stresses on any kind of jacket, but I have done the same activities in my cowhide jacket and, so far(knock on wood) haven't had one tear.
