No, they don't. Throughout the book of Psalms, for instance, there is lots of talk of God's love for His people.
And when Jesus talks about Hell, it's the "fire and brimstone" type. He was a hard-nose who was not unwilling to turn people away when they weren't ready to give themselves fully.
