"Ukrainian Catholic" is indeed Catholic and not Orthodox, though the two branches of Eastern and Western Christianity share many obvious similarities. For example, a Catholic could validly accept communion in an Orthodox church just as an Orthodox could receive in a Catholic, if the regular option for either one was not available.

The Ukrainian Catholic Church might seem Orthodox in appearance, in that their liturgy is in Ukrainian and a number of the things you'll find in an Orthodox Church are to be found there too (the doors in front of the altar, etc). However, the Bishops of the Ukrainian Catholic Church acknowledge the Pope in Rome as their supreme bishop and head of the church, making them Catholic instead of Orthodox (but not Roman Catholic, because they do not follow the Latin Rite).

Hope that clairifies things (though honestly I could talk about it all day).

Pax,

Aragorn
