Indy IV and AICN...

Perhaps posting a link to Harry's Jack Ryan blurb yesterday was a disservice
to the Indyfan community. It was intended to keep you informed of the
latest rumors, not to cause the gnashing of teeth and tearing of hair
that it seemed to cause in the Forum.

According to the bit, Harry is quite sure that there will not be an Indy IV,
but we have no indication of what gives Mr. Knowles this OPINION. One
might think that he has access to some bit of recon that we aren't aware
of. This is not likely to be the case. Harry has reported
numerous fanciful Indy IV rumors with only the slightest connection to Indy.
For example, in one report a box mover had spotted a "bar scene" at
Paramount and immediately thought it must have to do with a Raiders
Special Edition. I don't believe he's holding out on us. I'd say the
more likely possibility is that like many of you, Harry has become fed up
with this whole situation. He's heard one too many false rumors about Indy
IV, and has given up.

There are so few facts involved in the possibility of an Indy IV, that
we're jumping at shadows. However, we do know, officially, that a
script for Indy IV exists. Although their schedules as we know them
don't bear it out, Ford and Spielberg have been enthusiastic about
participating in another Indy sequel every time they are asked.

Harry's unsubstantiated opinion should not be enough to send Indy fans
running for the cliffs. Let's wait for a "no go" sign from the Ford
or Spielberg before we give up the ghost on this one.
