As it dries it cleans the fabric and rids it of the smell. I used this on my bag when it ame it it cleaned it up pretty good and got rid of the horrible smell that came with mine. Good luck...

I found a source of new, unissued bags. I bought two, one to keep in the original form, and one to use (leather strap, etc.) They were on sale for $15.00 each at the time.
