I have owned four pairs of the Alden boots and can say without question that I keep buying them, not for their Indy collectibility, but for their comfort and overall utility. I absolutely love them. They feel great on your feet and they are long-wearing. Also, unlike many shoes you can buy out there today, these can be re-heeled, re-soled, etc. and will last you forever. I liked them so much I bought a pair to keep looking new to wear for dress occasions (meetings, conferences, etc.), and they are great because of their ankle-height-make a tired pair of feet feel good after a long day of working.
