: Anyway, enough about names and back to MY POINTLESS LIFE. Does anybody know of any places to find LJN or Raiders figures that are around me--I'll go up to two states away!

: And please don't tell me "Try the local sewer." I want them in a LEEEDLE bit better condition than that!

Aaron,

Your best bet is to look in the newspaper and find out if there are any conventions held near where you live...toy conventions, movie memorabilia, comics, sci-fi, etc... There are often several big ones each year no matter where you are (even a local fire station may have a convention with stuff that you'll find priceless), and collectors are more likely to focus attention on a particular name (i.e. STAR WARS, STAR TREK, INDY, etc..).

Unfortunately, if you want to look into specialty shops, you'll have to do a lot of hunting. Your best bet here is to use a phone book. Call specific stores and ask if they have such and such...keep calling. If you plan to visit a major city like NY or LA, there are a LOT of stores there, but again you're better off making phone calls than driving all over the globe. I'm sure that many stores far away would be willing to mail specific items to you if you paid the shipping charges.

Also keep an eye out on TOY-COLLECTOR magazines. They list upcoming conventions, as well as feature classifieds for specific toys.

Fortunately, I acquired all my RAIDERS toys just when they were released...and saved 'em. (Not in the best condition today, mind you, but I still have 'em!)
